At Empress Eye Clinic, we incorporated Tele-Optometry, to ensure our patients receive eye care during the COVID 19 social distancing. We will continue to provide Tele-Optometry as a convenient tool for our patients to receive eye care at their home's comfort and safety, for some services that an in-person appointment is not necessary. The fee for a Tele-Optometry consultation is $100.00 for a maximum of 30 minutes session.
OHIP doesn't cover Tele-Optometry currently. In most cases, insurance plans may cover tele-optometry consultation, but we ask that you double-check with your insurance provider before making an appointment. After the consultation, you will receive your invoice to submit to your insurance company or claim it as a medical expense for your tax credit.
