Dr. Roger Habib was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia and earned his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Microbiology and Immunology at Dalhousie University. He attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and graduated *cum laude* with a Doctorate of Optometry degree. During his studies, he completed a clinical externship at William V. Chappell, Jr. Veteran Hospital where he specialized in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases such as diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Additionally, he concluded an externship at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan where he extensively fit soft and hard/specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and post-op corneal transplant patients.
Since moving to Toronto in 2009, Dr. Habib has been providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, including infants and toddlers. He has special interests in diagnosing, treating, and managing ocular disease conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, uveitis and ocular complications associated with hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol.
To provide convenience and accessibility, he currently travels to several cities within Ontario to administer primary ocular health care to First Nation populations at health centres. Dr. Habib is also certified in diagnostic, topical and oral therapeutic agents.
